Government recognises that a large number of people and organisations can
contribute to the effort to address the problem of obesity. It's also
important for people to feel they are able to take action to improve their
health and 'It's not Rocket Science' could prove helpful to many people
looking to manage their weight in a sensible manner.

In my opinion it's not rocket science is a safe and practical way to achieve weight loss. It illustrates how successful diet, physical activity and behaviour change are for people with no medical or mental health problems. it has a fun, 'back to basics' approach to nutrition advocating a balanced diet which sits within the current recommendations. It is so practical and useful for anyone intent on losing weight for good. The successful approach of diet, activity and behaviour change are all captured in the book. All the current evidence is around this three-pronged approach. This book acts as a working tool which will help people to identify with Anne's personal journey and create their own. For clients without mental health and medical problems this book is an excellent self management tool. I used the phrase back to basics because so often books give too much advanced nutritional information and the readers get lost in diet soup.

"It's the visceral (belly) fat that's the bad guy..." not only is it our enemy, it also makes us ill (type 2 diabetes and metabolic disease). I watched the author shedding her excess weight and become fit and healthy, and having read her hugely entertaining book, I am now going to try her method, because in my opinion it is a healthy, and safe way to regain the shape and fitness of my younger days.

It's got a fab name and it's a good back to basics guide to healthy eating
and exercise. So if you've got a bit confused with diets and you think they
are all just too complicated, go to this diet, because you can follow it
really easily.

The actual diet is great. I'm enjoying the food (which makes a change for a
diet) and the small plate at tea time is great. The first night I looked at
the food on the plate and thought no way is that going to fill me.  What a
shock! I ate it and my pudding and to my amazement, I felt fine. I've had no
hunger pangs which is what I suffer from on diets and that's when I cheat,
so no cheating with the food at all.  I will definitely be keeping it up long term.

I hadn't done any exercise for so long I didn't know where to start, but
this book shows you step by step from doing nothing to doing something 5
days a week, I'm losing inches.

I enjoyed it for it’s common sense, power of communication and above all,
it's humour.
